Three awards are given by the Association. The Teacher of the Year (TOTY), the Student of the Year (SOTY) and the Founders' Award. The TOTY and SOTY are given annually and are decided upon from the nominations submitted. The Founders' Award is given occasionally (only once so far) to recognize a person who has given outstanding service to the Association and the furthance of the study of the classics. TOTY:
The Teacher Must:
- Be a member in good standing of the GCA
- Be a Latin or Greek teacher (k-12) in Georgia
- Have at least three years of full time experience to his/her nomination
- Be a member of at least one other classical association.
- Utilize good pedagogical practices in the classroom and demonstrate keen sensitivity to foreign language students' needs and abilities.
- Demonstrate continual professional growth in at least one of the following: study and/or travel in Italy or Greece; attendance at professional meetings; participation in foreign language workshops, retreats, or institutes.

SOTY:
The Student Must:
- Be in Latin III or higher.
- Have received awards on the regional, state or national level.
- exhibit exemplary commitment to the study of Latin outside of the classroom.
